Sous le Très Haut Patronage du Président de la République du Cameroun, Son Excellence Paul BIYA, Yaoundé abrite le 06 août 2020, la Réunion des Gouverneurs Africains auprès du Groupe de la Banque Mondiale et du Fonds Monétaire International, en abrégé CAUCUS Africain.

This meeting chaired by the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development of Cameroon, Alamine OUSMANE MEY, in his capacity as current Chair of the African Caucus, is placed under the theme: “Protecting Africa's human capital in the face of Covid-19: saving lives, preserving welfare and safeguarding productivity and jobs".
The African Caucus brings together the 54 African Governors to the Bretton Woods Institutions, senior officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), Governors of African Central Banks, as well as officials of the African Union Commission, among others.

On the menu of this High-Level Consultation:

- Presentations by the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund on the response to COVID-19 and the recovery strategy; and
- Presentation of the draft Memorandum of the African Caucus 2020 followed by the deliberations of the Governors.

The work, which takes place in the context of an acute health crisis, will take place by videoconference due to the restrictive measures imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founded in 1963 as the African Group of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the African Caucus strengthens the voice of the continent's representatives on important issues relating to Africa's economic and social development within the Bretton Woods institutions.
